| Although there is a long history of such wholly empirical 'cook and look' experiments in geochemistry, this type of research on feldspars lost its inherent value three decades ago, with the work of Martine Lagache and others. The age of inferences about mineral-surface reaction pathways derived from batch hydrothermal experimentation, when the saturation state is not controlled nor the rates measured precisely, is gone. |
