From: Pierce, Charles <piercec@cec.sc.edu> Date: Mon, Aug 23, 2010 at 11:23 AM Subject: PhD Research Assistantships at University of South Carolina Ph.D. level Research Assistantships are available within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of South Carolina in landfill-related research areas including: the fate and transport of nanomaterials and hydrothermal carbonization of waste. Full tuition and fees remission, along with a monthly stipend, is available. Positions beginning in either Spring or Fall 2011 are available. The Environmental Engineering group has state-of-the-art laboratory (e.g., GC/MS, DLS, HPLC) and computing facilities (e.g., small computer clusters, 16-core and GPU units) to support this research. At a minimum, applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering, or a closely related discipline. Preference will be given to highly motivated candidates with prior research experience and MS degrees.
