PhD position in Theoretical Chemistry, University of Kiel, Germany

A Ph. D. position in theoretical chemistry is available starting immediately,
at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel,
under supervision of Prof. Bernd Hartke (http://ravel.phc.uni-kiel.de).

Various research topics can be chosen in the general fields
of quantum mechanical reaction dynamics on ab initio potentials, direct ab
initio dynamics, or global cluster structure optimization. The emphasis can
be placed on method development or applications or any mixture thereof.

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with a strong background in
theoretical and/or computational quantum chemistry. Requirements are a Diploma
or Master's degree in Chemistry or Physics and an excellent academic record.
Familiarity with state-of-the-art quantum chemistry packages and experience
with linux and programming languages is desired.

The position is available immediately for an initial period of one year, with
possibility for extension up to 3 years and for work towards obtaining a
PhD. The salary is based on the German public service scale (TV-L E13/2).
