The diamond powder was firstly preprocessed by sodium hydroxide solution. After surface modification with silane coupling agent, it was used to make resin wheels, the grinding ratio and grinding efficiency of which were then investigated. Experimental results indicated that the treated dimond abrasive enhanced the grinding ratio of wheels remarkably under the dry condition. The observation of the grinded wheel surface with microscope also demonstrated that the pullout strength of resin was enhanced and less abrasive brushed off. Compared with processing only by coupling agent, the proposed solution could increase 50% of the grinding ratio of diamond wheels. |
