At the initial stage of grain growth, if a grain comes across a second-phase particle, its grain boundary is pinned and the particles located at the grain boundary will grow with the grain while a few grains can escape from the pin of second-phase particle. With the evolvement of the grain, the grain boundary will be gradually straightened with smaller and smaller driving pressure for passing the crystalline particles. Consequently, most of the particles are still located at GB in the finally-gained microstructure, with all grain boundaries being straight. |
