| Portions of the presented material are interesting, especially in view of the large number of apparently conflicting sets of data on their system in the literature. Unfortunately, the work loses its claimed message. Part of the challenge rests with the attempt to support key pieces of the main body of work in a massive section for Supplemental Information; this material consists of more than 40 figures and 3 very large tables. It proved very difficult to unravel the flow of the discussion when moving between the two parts of the manuscript. In fact, we ended up making several of our own summary sketches of the data in the figures from this section to help sort things out. Similar problems developed when attempting to understand the basis of several of the elements in Table 3. |
