Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Physical Organic Chemistry Dr. Sun’s research group at the University of South Dakota (USD) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher who is interested in working in the field of physical organic chemistry relevant to dye sensitized solar cells, OLED materials, and interfacial electron transfer behavior. The research involves synthesis, characterization, and computational investigation of new fluoroorganic materials. Supported by the University of South Dakota and the South Dakota Board of Regents, Dr. Sun’s newly renovated lab is fully equipped, including Mbraun glovebox, Schlenk lines, Autolab electrochemistry system capable of FRA, fA detection, fast cyclic voltammetry, and bipotentiostat control. In addition, his group has access to the supercomputer at PNNL and the cluster computer at USD to perform computational study. A postdoctoral researcher working in his group will receive training in organofluorine and optoelectronic materials chemistries as well as professional development. The ideal candidate for this position should be highly motivated, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and independent thinking and problem solving skills. Background in experimental organic chemistry or electrochemistry , particularly in optoelectronic materials (synthesis and characterization) and/or in using computational methods to solve problems related to those materials is a plus. Ph.D. in chemistry is required. Review of application start immediately. The position will remain open until filled. Salary: $40,000/year plus benefits.
