1) the number of crystal bubble growed at 10 rpm was much lower than that at 30 rpm.
主语是the number, 后面的比较级就不能用less, is that right?

其实，更简洁的译文还有：

2) much more crystal bubbles were observed at 30 rpm than at 10 rpm.
