In the crystal nucleation and growth process, the reaction temperature, time, solvent and surface active agents have an important impact on their size and shape. When using 1,2 - propanediol as the solvent at temperatures which is below 150 ¡æ, with ethylene glycol, 1,4 - butanediol, 1,6 - hexanediol as solvents, meanwhile any other corresponding conditions are unchanged but the temperature reduces to below 186 ¡æ, we only get the amorphous antimony sulfide nanoparticles. In the experiment, four solvents have defferent surface properties. When they are used as the reaction medium, they will have a crucial effect on its reactant solubility, reactivity as well as dispersion. The reasons why the morphology of antimony sulfide are different in different solvents are still not clear. However, we still believe that the solvent polarity,viscosity and so on will impact the morphology of the final producets.

Experimental conditions, including temperature, time, solvent and surfactant may stress important
effects on the sizes and morphologies of a given crystal by participating in the nucleation and growth, in which many overall factors integrate to dominate the process. The reaction temperature is important for the formation of Sb2S3. When the temperature is lower than 150 ¡æ in 1,2-propanediol and 186 ¡æ in ethylene glycol  or 1,4-butanediol  or 1,6-hexanediol , with the other conditions remaining unchanged, only aggregated amorphous Sb2S3 particles were observed. To investigate the possible growth mechanism of Sb2S3, time-dependent experiments, which exhibit Amorphous particles, were also carried out. In our case, four solvents with different characterizations, which can influence the solubility, reactivity, and diffusion behavior of the reactants, are used as reaction media.The reason why different morphologies formed in different solvents is still unknown, although we think the polarity and viscosity of the solvents may affect morphologies of the final products. It is well known that the presence of surfactants  can influence the crystal growth, and different surfactants with different physical and chemical properties can influence the solubility, reactivity, and diffusion behavior of the reactants, in particular, the polarity and coordinating ability of the surfactants can influence the crystal morphology of the final product
