Job description: Applications are invited for a PhD research
fellowship on the field of inorganic oxide glasses for optical and
optoelectronic applications. The successful candidate shall
contribute, in a joint project of the Max Planck Institute for the
Science of Light and the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, to
the development of novel glasses for next-generation optical fiber
devices.

The ideal candidate holds a master degree (or equivalent) in materials
science, optical or condensed matter physics or a related field and
has a background in electro-optical materials, glasses, luminescence
and/or optical fiber/PCF. We offer internationally competitive
conditions; state-of-the art experimental facilities; a wide range of
international cooperation partners and an inspiring, young and highly
international environment.
