AB  the FE-LSPIM quadrilateral element[1] uses partition of unity (PU) methods to combine finite element and meshfree methods. it utilizes shape functions of the classical QUAD4 element for PU and the least-square point interpolation for local approximation. The FE-LSPIM quadrilateral element synergises the strengths of finite element method and meshfree method and has high accuracy. Numerical results in this paper show that this element also has good results on mesh-distortion.
