expand((x+1)*(x+2)*(x+3)*(x+4)*(x+5)*(x+6)) ans = x^6+21*x^5+175*x^4+735*x^3+1624*x^2+1764*x+720 This reduce to: -n1-n3 =720 2 n1 + n2 + 6 n3 + n4=1764 -2 n1 - 4 n2-18 n3=1624 8 n2 + 32 n3 + n5=735 -8 n2 - 36 n3 -n6=175 4 n2 + 24 n3 + 2 n6=21 -8 n3 - 2 n6=1 so there are 7 eqations and only 6 variable,and thus possible may has no root,even for a general case,it is difficult to find such an seqence n1,...n6. GOOD LUCK TO YOU. Appendix: for a general case,suppose P(x)=Product(x-xi),i=1-6,expand as in power of x,gives P(x)=b0+b1x+...+b6x^6,and Almost the same linear eqation(rhs are not the same), -n1-n3 =b0 2 n1 + n2 + 6 n3 + n4=b1 -2 n1 - 4 n2-18 n3=b2 8 n2 + 32 n3 + n5=b3 -8 n2 - 36 n3 -n6=b4 4 n2 + 24 n3 + 2 n6=b5 -8 n3 - 2 n6=b6 Pitifully,it probably has no nontrival solution either. |
