关于有机物的racemate问题

最近投了一篇文章，关于天然产物方面的文章，一个审稿专家给出来下面的评语，自己对于这些晶体问题不懂，所以请虫友帮忙解决，不胜感激！ Both structures in this paper claim that the crystallographic characterizations of compounds 1 and 6 "confirm" the assigned stereochemistry. However, both were done with MoKa radiation and could not possibly provide this information. If there is any doubt, the Flack parameters, and their accompanying esd's, completely conform this conclusion. Additionally, compound 1 is reported in the space group P-1, which, of course, demands that the two molecules in the unit cell be of opposite hand, i.e., this is a racemate. Furthermore, CHECKCIF strongly suggests for compound 6, via ADDSYM, that unrecognized additional symmery exists, specifically glide planes that would render this also a racemate. |
