谢绝翻译软件的翻译！ 一、汉译英： 年过五十的老先生，大概总读过韩愈的《师说》。这篇文章里很有几句话值得今天当老师和学生的想一想。例如他说： “孔子曰：三人行，则必有我师。是故弟子不必不如师，师不必贤于弟子。闻道有先后，术业有专攻，如是而已。” 韩愈的原意，是因为自己接受了门徒，为抵制当时舆论的非议，所以写这篇文章自解。他的意思是说，自己虽然是做了先生，并不一定样样贤于弟子，从他学的人也不一定不如他，人们不必因此而大惊小怪。 二、英译汉： Though fond of many acquaintances, I desire an intimacy only with a few. The Man in Black, whom I have often mentioned, is one whose friendship I could wish to acquire, because he possesses my esteem. His manners, it is true, are tinctured with some strange inconsistencies, and he may be justly termed a humorist in a nation of humorists. Though he is generous even to profusion, he affects to be thought a prodigy of parsimony and prudence; though his conversation be replete with the most sordid and selfish maxims, his heart is dilated with the most unbounded love. I have known him profess himself a man-hater, while his cheek was glowing with compassion; and, while his looks were softened into pity, I have heard him use the language of the most unbounded ill-nature. Some affect humanity and tenderness, others boast of having such dispositions from Nature; but he is the only man I ever knew who seemed ashamed of his natural benevolence. He takes as much pains to hide his feelings, as any hypocrite would to conceal his indifference; but on every unguarded moment the mask drops off, and reveals him to the most superficial observer. |

Those who are in their fifties likely have read Han Yu's "Master Said." There are quite a few words are still worthwhile today for critical thinking of teachers and students. For example, he said: "Confucius said: there will be a teacher among three regular people. As such, students may be better than teachers and vice versa. The achievement depends on various factors, not necessarily correlating to the time envolved and the specialty." Han Yu's original intent was attributed to the fact that he was teaching students and trying to avoid the criticism of public opinion at that time. This resulted in the article. What he meant is that he is not necessarily better than his students, and so be it. |
