Cyclic voltammograms have been registered at potential scan rate about 20 mV/s, which corresponds to time of an anode or cathodic half-cycle of 1.5 minutes. It is known that lithium insertion-extraction process is limited by lithium diffusion in solid state. At such high potential scan rate electrochemical process will be occur mainly on the electrode surfaces but not in electrode bulk. It leads to decrease of insertion capacity. As a rule, potential scan rate for study of such materials should be from 0.02 to 0.1 mV/s.
