Interested candidates are invited to apply for the Geotechnical Engineering Program in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering (CEE), LSU. The PhD positions will focus on developing Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) for geomechanics applications, including CPTu interpretation, large-strain elastoplastic consolidation analysis, and offshore wind turbine pile modelling. The research is sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). Please note that GRE is currently waived for applicants to CEE graduate programs, and qualified candidates may expect to receive a stipend of more than $30,000 per 12-month period.
