[交流] 荷兰莱顿大学招聘CSC博士生-CRISPR基因编辑方向

PhD Opportunity (China Scholarship Council – CSC) The Netherlands

Precision Genome Editing and Gene Therapy
Genome Editing Group, Department of Cell and Chemical Biology, Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), Leiden University, The Netherlands https://ccb.lumc.nl/about-the-goncalves-lab-135

Join our research programme
The Genome Editing Group at the LUMC is seeking an outstanding, ambitious and highly motivated MSc graduate to join our laboratory as a “CSC-funded PhD candidate”.
Our research aims to advance the next generation of precision genome editing technologies and translate these innovations into therapies for inherited human diseases. By combining molecular biology, CRISPR engineering, and advanced viral vector technologies, we seek to develop safer, more precise and more effective genetic medicines.

About the laboratory
The Genome editing group investigates the molecular mechanisms governing precise genome modification and develops innovative genome engineering platforms with translational potential. Our work brings together expertise in genome editing, DNA repair, chromatin biology and gene delivery. Our laboratory has a strong track record of mentoring young scientists. Lab Alumni have received prestigious national awards for outstanding PhD research, published in leading journals and progressed to successful careers in academia and the biotechnology sectors.

Current research themes include:
Engineering of advanced adenoviral vectors and gene-editing tool delivery systems; Next-generation CRISPR technologies (e.g., prime editing); Epigenetic and DNA repair pathways controlling genome editing outcomes.

candidates are encouraged to develop scientific independence while receiving close mentorship.

You will have access to:
• Cutting-edge genome editing, molecular and cell biology technologies
• International collaborations and multidisciplinary research projects
• Advanced training in experimental design, scientific communication and career development

Candidate profile
We are looking for applicants who possess:
• An excellent MSc degree in Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology,
Genetics, Cell Biology, Virology or a related discipline
• Outstanding academic performance
• Strong experimental laboratory skills
• Curiosity, creativity, perseverance and enthusiasm for scientific discovery
• Excellent written and spoken English (minimum IELTS Academic overall score of 7.0 or
TOEFL iBT score of 100, in-presence test results should normally be no more than two
years old unless an exemption applies). Applicants with stronger communication skills are
particularly encouraged to apply.
• Previous experience with CRISPR technologies, viral vectors, mammalian cell culture,
next-generation sequencing or bioinformatics is advantageous but not essential.

Funding
This opportunity is intended for candidates eligible to apply through the China Scholarship Council
(CSC) programme. Successful applicants will receive full scientific supervision and administrative
support throughout the CSC application process and subsequent PhD training at LUMC.

How to apply
Interested candidates are invited to submit:
• Curriculum vitae
