Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UW-Madison Company Information The University of Wisconsin¨CMadison is a top-tier public research university, consistently ranked among the top 15 in the U.S. Founded in 1848, it serves as the flagship campus of the UW System. Duties and Responsibilities The Post-Doc will work with Dr. Guanhua Chen (https://sites.google.com/view/gchenwisc/) and Dr. ZhengZheng Tang (https://tangzheng1.github.io/tanglab/) in the fields of statistical genetics, microbiome/metagenomics, electronic health records, and clinical/biomedical informatics. - Conduct independent and collaborative research projects - Develop statistical and machine learning methods and tools - Perform simulation studies and real data analysis - Interpret results and write manuscripts The positions offer opportunities for training in statistical methodology development, software implementation, and interdisciplinary collaboration with biologists and healthcare professionals. Research projects will leverage first-hand, nationwide data to generate impactful results and are expected to lead to both methodological and collaborative publications in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals. Position Qualifications • PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field • Strong background in scientific research methodologies • Proficiency in programming languages such as R/C++ or Python • Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic • Experience with genetics or microbiome data is not required but encouraged Qualified applicants should be self-motivated and interested in solving real-world problems.
