Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UW-Madison

Company Information

Duties and Responsibilities
The Post-Doc will work with Dr. Guanhua Chen (https://sites.google.com/view/gchenwisc/) and Dr. ZhengZheng Tang (https://tangzheng1.github.io/tanglab/) in the fields of statistical genetics, microbiome/metagenomics, electronic health records, and clinical/biomedical informatics.
- Conduct independent and collaborative research projects
- Develop statistical and machine learning methods and tools
- Perform simulation studies and real data analysis
- Interpret results and write manuscripts

The positions offer opportunities for training in statistical methodology development, software implementation, and interdisciplinary collaboration with biologists and healthcare professionals. Research projects will leverage first-hand, nationwide data to generate impactful results and are expected to lead to both methodological and collaborative publications in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.

Position Qualifications
• PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field
• Strong background in scientific research methodologies
• Proficiency in programming languages such as R/C++ or Python
• Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic
• Experience with genetics or microbiome data is not required but encouraged
Qualified applicants should be self-motivated and interested in solving real-world problems. Strong training in statistical methods and programming skills is required.
