Only small immeasurable amounts of [14C] 16:0 could be found in the remaining lipid classes. In order to investigate the degree of FA modifications present during late adipogenesis the TAG and PL fractions were separated by silver ion TLC. Interestingly, 54% of the radioactive 16:0 had been desaturated and elongated into 18:1n−9 in both TAG and PL fractions . |
