This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious researcher to work on cutting-edge projects focused on liposome/lipid nanoparticle-based disease diagnosis and drug delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience with advanced lipid chemistry, including the understanding of different lipid classes, membrane dynamics, chemical modification of lipids, lipid formulation optimization, liposome/lipid nanoparticle preparation and characterization, cargo loading, and relevant experiments. Candidates with experience in mRNA vaccine delivery systems or CRISPR-Cas technologies are especially encouraged to apply. Research examples can be found here (PMID: 38464277 and PMID: 38374413, ). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with leading experts, including Dr. Luke Lee at Harvard Medical School, and will have the flexibility to be based either in Binghamton, NY, or Boston, MA. Key Responsibilities: I. RESEARCH (90%) • Research activity (70%): • Lead a research group and determine research goals for a project exploring the advanced immunoliposome/lipid nanoparticles. • Design and execute innovative experiments, including method selection, data analysis, and result interpretation. • Collaborate with Dr. Wan and Dr. Lee to drive research projects forward, contributing to both fundamental science and translational applications. • Develop novel lipid-based biomedical applications. • Mentor graduate and undergraduate students in method development and implementation, experiment design, and result interpretation. • Publication (10%): • Disseminate research findings through high-impact, peer-reviewed journals, either independently or in collaboration with members of the research team. • Grant Acquisition (10%): • Contribute to the design and preparation of research grant proposals to secure funding for ongoing and future projects.
