One Graduate Assistant Position for fall 2024 is available in Dr. Zhenmeng Peng's group, Department of Chemical Engineering, College of Engineering and Computing, at the University of South Carolina. We are looking for one self-motivated PhD student dedicated to the cutting-edge research in electrochemistry and electrochemical reaction engineering. The lab focuses on study and development of electrochemical processes and electrocatalyst materials for energy and environmental applications, for instance liquid organic hydrogen carrier electrochemistry for hydrogen and energy storage, redox electrodialysis for desalination and mineral extraction, fuel cell for energy generation, and water electrolysis for hydrogen production. The student will be trained based on his/her own research interests and multi-disciplinarily in electrochemistry, electrochemical reaction engineering, materials chemistry, and catalysis science.

The University of South Carolina is a public, R1 research university in Columbia, South Carolina, United States. It is the flagship of the University of South Carolina System and has a strong PhD program in Chemical Engineering. The candidate will be given full financial supports plus tuition waiver and health benefits during the time of graduate study. Candidate qualifications include:
• M.S. or B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or other related majors
• Strong interests and high motivation in electrochemistry and electrochemical reaction engineering research
• Good GPA
• Qualified score on an English proficiency test: TOEFL (≥80), or IELTS (≥6.5), or PTE (≥53)
