The Rapid Communications section is devoted to the publication of especially important new results; the acceptance criteria are similar to those for Physical Review Letters, differing only in the level of accessibility to a general readership. In addition, we are concerned that while your manuscript addresses a topic of some interest to our community, as written, it seems much more appropriate for submission to a journal with more emphasis on material science. While we appreciate that the definition of materials physics and materials science is somewhat subjective, we believe that there is not enough emphasis on the physics here for our journal.
