审稿人这句话是什么意思啊

有篇审稿意见：This communication reports an analytical method for nitrate in waters using an evanescent wave based procedure. It appears to be a well investigated piece of work and merits publication. It should be shortened to become more readable and to better reflect the likely importance of the research --- the detection limit is rather high. The principle of evanescent wave is well known and this section could be replaced by references. Also the sketches could reside in ESM.
