好多人短信问过我在写综述过程中引用他人图片的版权问题，这里就开个帖子和大家共享下我的经验。
先说一下我的经验，在progress in polymer science上发表过两篇，progress in material science上发表过一篇。最近刚完成了一个书稿的一个章节。
首先说一下，写综述，包括书稿，一般情况下一篇文章引用不超过3个图片的情况下大都不收费（一个figure中的a,b,c等只算一个）。当然我也遇到过例外的。和一个德国教授交流的时候，他说，一般情况下这些杂志是非常欢迎你引用他们图片的，所以大都不收费的。收费的情况不是没有，很少见。遇到这种情况，大家一般都避开这些图片了。

现在很多杂志社都和Rightslink (https://www.copyright.com/manageAccount.action) （自己的账号bfang@chbe.ubc.ca; Copyright2018）
有合作，可以通过他们直接搞到版权，很方便。Science, nature, ACS, Weliy, Elsevier, AIP, RSC, Springer都是可以通过他搞到版权。这个网站需要注册，注册是免费的。一个小tip,登录进去的时候选择保留登录信息，下次你再要其他版权的时候，直接跳到你的账户，非常方便。APS, IOP, PNAS等需要联系杂志社要版权，根据它们具体的要求提供详尽的信息。下面是APS要求提供的信息，一般都差不多。建议看各个杂志的具体要求，比如PNAS的情况就比较复杂。
To request permission to republish APS-copyrighted material, please provide the following information:
Title of journal
Title of article
Name of author
Volume number, page number (or article identifier), year
Indicate if you are requesting to republish in print, online, CD-ROM, and/or other format
Indicate if you wish to republish all or portion of article; if a portion describe the specific material, e.g., figure numbers, excerpt
Indicate how the material will be used, e.g., in a book, journal, proceeding, thesis, etc.
Indicate the title of the article/thesis/chapter etc., and the name of the publication in which your work will appear
Indicate the name of the publisher
Indicate whether or not a fee will be charged for the publication

下面说一下具体的步骤：
比如说引用ACS上的文章，进入你需要引用文章的页面，在页面上找到“rights & permissions”,点击进去，按部就班的填好就是了。ACS比较爽快，直接跳到一个页面说你用吧。一般我都把这个页面保存下来了。
其他有些杂志如Wiley还需要你填写综述的大体信息，包括大约什么时候出版，大约印多少啊什么的，给个大概数字就行。
各个出版社设置的选项略有不同，你可以选择合适的选项，点击下面的quick price,看看要付多少钱。是0就对了。如果试了可能的选项，但还是需要付钱的时候，建议联系该杂志。

这两天有朋友问我关于会议论文的版权问题，觉得还是挺典型的，就拿他的例子上来说一下。
比如这篇文章https://proceedings.spiedigitalli ... px?articleid=891506
页面上貌似没有rights & permissions那一项，但是你把页面拉到最下方，就会看到Information for Authors一栏, 其中一项是Reprint Permissions，点击进去就看到他具体的要求了。很明显不能通过Rightslink获得版权，需要联系他们，提供他们所需要的具体信息。
If you are seeking permission to use previously published material, please contact reprint_permission@spie.org. In your e-mail, please include the following information:
Title and author
Volume, issue, and page numbers
What you would like to reproduce
Where you will republish the requested material.

再有一个例子

在页面左侧有author那一栏，下拉菜单里有copyright一栏。点击进去会找到如下内容:
Permissions For OSA to consider a copyright permission request we require in writing by fax, mail, or e-mail:
A complete citation of the item to be reproduced, including figure numbers, etc.,
A clear explanation of the intended use of the item, and the requestor's complete contact information.
Please direct further questions regarding copyright to copyright@osa.org.

概括来说，找到给author指导意见的那一栏，基本就能找到copyright的具体要求。

在初次投稿的时候，是不需要提交版权的。
一般是在审稿后，编辑决定接受，或者认为修改后就可以接受的时候会要求你提供版权文件。
