【香港城市大学电子工程系】Arindam Basu教授课题组招收博后/RA以及博士研究生
opening for research assistant and PhD student in neuromorphic, in-memory computing ic design (application of brain-machine interface and computer vision) @ city university of hong kong
There are multiple openings for research assistant and PhD students in the newly established group of professor Arindam Basu, department of electrical engineering, City University of Hong Kong.
Prof. Basu joined CityU in June 2021 after spending 11 years as a faculty in the school of EEE, Nanyang technological university, Singapore. more information about Prof. Basu can be found here:

The candidate should have experience in doing analog/mixed-signal ic design with a preference for experience in memory design. for post-doctoral/RA positions, experience with ic tape out and measurement is a must. the focus will be on in-memory computing implementations of neuromorphic algorithms for two applications:
(1) Signal processing and compression in brain-machine interfaces.
(2) Processing event-based video from dynamic vision sensors in autonomous driving.
Candidates will get the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research with recent papers from the group published in top conferences like a-sscc 2021, cicc 2022 and top journals like jssc and tcas. examples of recent work from our group in this direction:
>> s. k. bose, d. singla and a. basu, “a 51.3 tops/w, 134.4 gops in-memory binary image filtering in 65nm cmos” ieee journal of solid-state circuits (jssc), 2021.
>> s. k. bose and a. basu, “a 389 tops/w, always on region proposal integrated circuit using in-memory computing in 65nm cmos,” ieee journal of solid-state circuits (jssc), 2022.
>> x. zhang, v. mohan and a. basu, “cram: collocated sram and dram with in-memory computing based denoising and filling for neuromorphic vision sensors in 65 nm cmos” ieee tcas-ii, vol. 67, no. 5, pp. 816-820, 2020.
>> s. k. bose and a. basu, “a 389 tops/w, 1262fps at 1meps region proposal integrated circuit for neuromorphic vision sensors in 65nm cmos” ieee asian solid-state circuits conference (a-sscc), busan, south korea, 2021.
>> x. zhang and a. basu, “a 915╟1220 tops/w hybrid in-memory computing based image restoration and region proposal integrated circuit for neuromorphic vision sensors in 65nm cmos,” ieee custom integrated circuits conference (cicc), 2022.
>> a. basu, l. deng, c. frenkel and x. zhang, “spiking neural network integrated circuits: a review of trends and future directions,” ieee custom integrated circuits conference (cicc), 2022.
Interested candidates should send their cv to arinbasu@cityu.edu.hk with details about their academic record as well as ic design experience. shortlisted candidates will be interviewed. thank you and look forward to working with you!
