请问文献中edge-on orientation和face-on orientation译成中文是什么？可以解释下吗？

原文摘录如下： The designed small molecules (SMs) provide comprehensively different molecular packing/ordering and orientation via the additional alkyl substituent group. The control compound (SM1, R = H) exhibited a predominant edge-on orientation, whereas the newly synthesized SM2 (R = hexyl) formed a well-ordered preferential face-on orientation. 根据文献里的示意图（例如https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja4051179和https://doi.org/10.1021/acsami.0c22099） edge-on orientation 棱向取向 face-on orientation 面向取向 end-on orientation 端向取向 个人认为这么译比较合适 |
