Construction and Exploration of Functional Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Materials
专题信息如下:
Organic-inorganic hybrid materials, holding both the advantages of the stability of inorganic materials and the diversity of organic materials, have drawn more and more attention. Generally, those hybrid materials are constituted of organic ligands and inorganic metal cations which assembly is driven by coordination interactions and weak bonding interactions. Their unique structural features that are large specific surface areas, modifiable channels, multiple active sites, and stable skeleton endow those emerging crystalline materials many applications in the fields of chiral separation, gas adsorption, heterogeneous catalysis, overall water splitting, etc. Through the reasonable selection of complementary organic ligands and metal cations, almost infinite hybrid materials can be designed. Despite numerous synthetic efforts, the construction of hybrid materials as well as their applications are still in their infancy.

In this Research Topic, we aim to present the construction and performances of hybrid materials, including metal-organic frameworks, coordination polymers, gels, and other inorganic-organic nanomaterials, followed by the overview of possible applications with representative examples. We welcome the submission of Original Research, Reviews, and Mini-Reviews papers. We will prioritize polymeric inorganic-organic materials papers highlighting the design, constructions, applications, as well as the structure-property relationship. Overall, we seek to provide the latest explorations as well as the future outlooks of inorganic-organic materials, which, hopefully, will stimulate new ideas within various scientific communities.

Themes to be addressed may include, but are not limited to:

• Design and constructions of inorganic-organic hybrid materials, including metal-organic frameworks, coordination polymers, gels, and other inorganic-organic nanomaterials.

• Applications of inorganic-organic hybrid materials in the fields of chiral separation, gas adsorption, heterogeneous catalysis, overall water splitting, etc.

• Exploration of structure-property relationship of inorganic-organic hybrid materials.

• Construction mechanisms explanations from theoretical calculations.

• The latest reports as well as the future outlooks of inorganic-organic materials.
