The rationale of this project will lie in the design of photoswitches with light-responsive H-bonding capabilities. These photoswitches capable to associate or dissociate upon exposure to light will be incorporated into multifunctional macromolecular building blocks to build a range of smart adaptative materials. This original project hosted by IMP@INSA will not only allow solving pivotal challenges in supramolecular chemistry, translating geometrical changes of photoswitches into light-triggered transitions for the materials (gel/sol or stiff/tough) and will also lead to a number of cutting-edge applications in the fields of colloids, nanocomposites and polymer gels. Collaborative work will be performed with top ranking researchers, Pr Andreas Walther (University of Freiburg, Germany) and Dr Yann Bretonni¨¨re (ENS Lyon) on nanocomposites and photophysical characterizations respectively. Moreover, the large scientific/industrial network makes IMP a unique lab in Europe in the field of nanostructured polymers giving opportunities to launch scientific collaborations with top-ranking institutes in Europe, in particular the ones of the ECNP consortium which IMP is a core member. The ideal candidate should have a Master degree in Chemistry, with a strong background in organic and supramolecular chemistry. Minimal hands-on experience in polymer chemistry is highly recommended. She/he should have strong experience with analytical methods (NMR, UV-Vis, IR, fluorescence spectroscopies, and chromatographic techniques such as SEC). Other skills, such as knowledge about ITC, DLS and microscopy techniques will also be appreciated. An excellent level in english language is required. French language knowledge is welcome but not mandatory. »¶ÓÁôÑÔ×Éѯ |
