PhD student opening with a full scholarship for 3 years at LTeN
Location: Nantes, France
Subject: Optimization for heat and mass transfer
Research team: Transfer in Fluids and Energy Systems in Heat Transfer and Energy Laboratory at Nantes (LTeN).

The LTeN is a joint research unit of the University of Nantes and the CNRS. Our research team has worked for long time on the optimization of engineering fluidic and thermal devices, in tight tie with industrial communities, using versatile analytical or numerical techniques coupled with shape/topology optimization algorithms. General recruitment information:
We are recruiting a highly motivated PhD student with strong interest in Optimization for industrial heat& mass transfer. The applicants who have research experience in one or more of the following areas are preferred:
(1) Simulations of thermal and mass transport, such as, finite element method and Monte Carlo simulation, etc.;
(2) Machine learning, optimization, and high throughput design;
(3) Thermal management.
The enrolled PhD student will be provided a full scholarship for 3 years, and be supervised by Prof. Lingai Luo, Dr. Yilin Fan, and Dr. Yuchao Hua.
Qualifications:
(1)       Master degree or equivalent (graduating students for 2021 are also fine);
(2)       English: fluent, sufficient for academic communication;
(3)       Interests and skills in programming;
(4)       Self-motivated, pro-activated, and positive attitude.
Start date of the PhD program: September 1st 2021 (the applicants must guarantee arriving in Nantes by the end of August 2021).
