New Au-based bulk glassy alloys with ultralow glass transition temperature

New Au-based glassy alloys with high Au contents of

60–70 at.% have been found to exhibit an ultralow glass transition temperature (

66–86 °C), a high glass-forming ability and a wide supercooled liquid region. They also have high thermodynamic and kinetic stability in the supercooled liquid state, strong oxidation resistance, good mechanical properties, very high corrosion resistance and excellent thermoplastic formability.
