After completion of your SYBYL® 7.3 installation, you must close the installer before you can begin to install this update release.
1.  Login to the machine where SYBYL 7.3 was installed, as the user that installed the software. If you installed SYBYL 7.3 into separate directories based on platform, you must repeat this procedure on each platform.

2.  To extract the installation contents, enter: tar xvf ./install.tar

3.  The variable TA_ROOT must be defined to point to your SYBYL 7.3
directory. To define TA_ROOT, enter:  trigo -shell sybyl7.3

4.  This update release includes new documentation. As a result, the Tripos Bookshelf search engine must be shutdown before this update release is installed. To make sure the search engine is not running, enter:  $TA_ROOT/TriposBookshelf/tripostbs.sh -down

5.  To begin the installation, you must install the new base SYBYL :
/bin/sh Update-..sh  where release and datecode are numeric values. For example, a release of 7.3.5 released on day 297 of 2007 would be: /bin/sh Update-7.3.5.07297.sh

6.  This will update SYBYL to the latest version (7.3.5).

7.  This update to SYBYL also includes an update to Orchestrar. There are some required databases that will need to be updated if you are an Orchestrar customer. These databases were first released with SYBYL 7.3.4. These are installed in the same way as step 5.  /bin/sh OrchestrarDB-73.07205.sh

8.  When you have completed installing the last update, your SYBYL is now ready for use.

9.  To restart the Tripos Bookshelf search engine, enter:  $TA_ROOT/TriposBookshelf/tripostbs.sh -up Note: If you previously started the Tripos Bookshelf search engine on a port other than the default, you need to designate that port with the -
port flag.

10.  To exit your SYBYL environment, enter: exit

11.  Remember to clean up this directory by removing the readme.pdf file, the downloaded file, install.tar and all files extracted from the install.tar file.  If you have any problems during installation, contact your local support office or send email to support@tripos.com.
