postdoctoral researcher position in geotechnical engineering one postdoctoral researcher position in geotechnical engineering is available in the department of civil and environmental engineering (cee) at university of hawaii at manoa (uhm). the successful applicant, starting from january 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter, will work on a hawaii department of transportation (hdot) project on new grouting materials for costal coral sand stabilization. major duties include: laboratory test, field test, data analysis, modeling, and report writing. the duration of this position is one year. the salary for this position is $45,000 per year. successful applicant should have: • ph.d. degree in geotechnical engineering or construction materials • previous research experience related to cement materials and soil stabilization • a strong record of referred journal publications • the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with graduate students and researchers • strong oral and written communication skills • applicants with experience in computer vision and ai are desired. the postdoctoral researcher will work with dr. ningjun jiang. please send your inquiry with a cv to jiangn@hawaii.edu. review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. uhm is the flagship campus of the university of hawaii system and a carnegie doctoral university with a strong emphasis on research and graduate education. the cee department offers b.s., m.s., and ph.d. degrees. current enrolment is 300 undergraduate students, 60 graduate students with 20 faculty members. as the only civil engineering program in the state of hawaii, our graduates are found in nearly every public and private engineering agency and company in hawaii, where many of them are in leadership positions. there has been a constant demand for civil engineers in the state and we are often contacted by employers eager to fill vacant positions with our graduates. for more information on the department, please visit http://www.cee.hawaii.edu/. |
