Coarse Graining of Polymer Chain and the Potential Function Dynamics ofA Brownian Particle and the Langevin Equation The Dumbbell andBead-Spring Models
Flexibility (or Rigidity) in Polymer Chain Stochastic Formulation andSimulation The Reptation Theory for Entangled Polymer Single-ChainDynamics and Scaling Concepts
In this course, we shall mainly be concerned with the link betweenmicroscopic polymer-chain dynamics and macroscopic observables.
We shall introduce how molecular models for simulating the polymerdynamics and the flow rheology in various polymer systems (i.e.,polymer chain with a flexible, semi-flexible, or rigid backbone in adilute, semi-dilute, or concentrated system) may be established on thebasis of statistical mechanics. Stochastic schemes used to solve themolecular theories will also be discussed.
