Call for participation in and submission to Beijing International Symposium on Computational Neuroscience, July 24-25, 2009 An intensive high quality symposium on computational neuroscience will be held on July 24-25th, 2009, in Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. The topics for this symposium will include, and not be limited to,computational theories and models of vision, audition, olfaction, motor control, neural encoding and decoding, learning and plasticity, memory, neural circuits and networks, attention, decision making, as well as theory or model motivated experiments. One of the aims of this symposium is to encourage communications and interactions between researchers in the regional and international communities of computational neuroscience, and to foster and encourage interests among students and young researchers in this research direction. There will be both oral and poster presentations at the symposium. Researchers and students are encouraged to participate in the symposium. Registration is free but is required to participate. Spaces are limited, hence please sign up soon. If you would like to present your work in this symposium, please submit your work as soon as possible and before June 20th to the symposium organizer (Li Zhaoping z.li@ucl.ac.uk). The submissions will be considered by a symposium committee for a limited number of oral and poster presentations. Limited travel funds are available to help students and young researchers to participate in the symposium. Preference will be given to those who present their work in the symposium. Please contact the symposium organizer (Li Zhaoping, z.li@ucl.ac.uk ) to apply for travel assistance if needed. Speakers for the symposium include Peter Dayan (University College London), Jean-Piere Nadel (Ecole Normale Superireure, to be confirmed), Ning Qian (Columbia University), Misha Tsodyks (Weizmann Institute), Si Wu (Institute of Neuroscience, Shanghai), and Li Zhaoping (University College London). More information on the symposium can be found at http://www.cs.ucl.ac.uk/staff/Zhaoping.Li/BeijingMeeting2009.html 李教授组织的这次计算神经科学国际研讨会,在国内当属首次,届时将有该领域多位国际大牛在会上做报告,希望大家不要错过此机会,特向大家推荐!
