Immediate PhD opening with full financial support: University of Nevada Reno (UNR), fall 2018 and spring 2019 Job Type: Graduate Job Rank: PhD student Job Institution: University of Nevada, Reno Job Description: Dr. Yiliang Liao's Advanced Manufacturing and Materials Processing Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno has openings starting spring 2019 or fall 2018 for motivated PhD students with background in materials science, advanced manufacturing, applied physics, and related area. The student will be expected to conduct research in the projects such as: 1. Laser based materials processing. 2. Additive manufacturing. 3. Flexible energy devices printing. 4. Nano-manufacturing. 5. Multi-scale modeling. Requirements: 1. BS/MS degree in materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, physics or a closely related field. 2. MS is preferred. 3. Journal publication experience is preferred.
