从热力学角度考虑,形成六方相NaYF4的活化能高于形成立方相NaYF4的活化能,高温环境可以提供足够的能量来克服形成六方相NaYF4的势垒。因此,提高反应的温度能够促进NaYF4:Yb,Er纳米颗粒发生由立方晶相向六方晶相的转变。
从动力学角度考虑,由α-NaYF4转变成β-NaYF4是一个阳离子排列由无序到有序的过程,形成有序结构要比形成无序结构所需要的时间更长。因此,延长反应时间能够促进NaYF4:Yb,Er纳米颗粒发生由立方晶相向六方晶相的转变。
尽管六方相NaYF4是热力学稳定,但是合成中常常得到的是立方相的NaYF4。这是由于NaYF4结晶形成β晶型的活化能高于形成α晶型的活化能,如果NaYF4在结晶时反应体系没有提供足够的能量去克服β晶型的势垒,NaYF4就很容易结晶形成热力学不稳定的α晶型。在一定的条件下,两种晶型的NaYF4可以相互转换。NaYF4由α晶型向β晶型的转变通常要经过比较剧烈的环境才能发生,比如较高的温度或者较长时间的加热反应。
