Call for Papers- Recent Advances in Functional Carbon Nanomaterials
|

Recent Advances in Functional Carbon Nanomaterials Call for Papers Rapid increase in industrialization, urbanization, and population growth has led to pronounced increase in the global energy demands. With depleting fossil fuels and growing concern on environmental protection, urgent research efforts are needed to find alternative energy resources that are efficient, economical, and ecologically friendly. Since energy resources such as solar and wind energy are intermittent and power usage is increasing on numerous portable electronic devices, efficient means have to be found for storage and transportation of energy. A number of electronic, photonic, and optoelectronic devices have been proposed for this purpose. Typical systems under consideration include photovoltaic solar cells, batteries, supercapacitors, field effect transistors, fuel cells, thermoelectric, thermal-photo catalysts, and luminescence display devices. The topic of this special issue is how to use advances in carbon material science and nanotechnology in designing systems for efficient interconversion of energy forms between thermal, photonic, and electrical energy. Graphene, carbon nanotubes, and other carbon nanomaterials are typical examples where nanoscale design permits their efficient performance in a number of energy conversion and storage devices. All devices dealing with conversion of energy forms and storage will be considered for this issue. This special issue will cover a wide range of functional carbon nanomaterials for energy conversion and storage. It will mainly focus on preparations, characterizations, functionalization, and properties of nanoparticles, nanostructured coatings, films, membranes, nanoporous materials, and nanocomposites. Fundamental understanding of the basic mechanisms on material and processes related to the unique nanoscale properties of the functional materials will be the highlights of this special issue. Potential topics include but are not limited to the following: Synthesis of functionalization of carbon nanomaterials Fabrication of carbon nanostructured thin films and coatings Bioinspired carbon nanomaterials for energy conversion Carbon nanomaterials for Sensors Organic and inorganic photovoltaics Batteries and supercapacitors Printable energy and electronic devices nanowire mesh as transparent electrodes Microporous carbon materials for energy applications Flexible functional carbon nanomaterial based devices and applications Optoelectronic macromolecules Thin film solar cell device research Key supporting carbon materials research of solar cells Novel carbon nanomaterials for light emitting diodes Photoelectric material of the electronic structure and optical properties Structure and surface interface of photoelectric material and devices Rational design and controllable material preparation of highly efficient and stable photoelectric conversion Authors can submit their manuscripts through the Manuscript Tracking System at https://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/jnt/fnec/. Manuscript Due Friday, 24 February 2017 First Round of Reviews Friday, 19 May 2017 Publication Date Friday, 14 July 2017 |
