          Abstract:         Submarine pipeline steel has largely uniform elongation, low yield ratio and good balance between high strength and high plasticity because of the microstructure with dual phase. In this work, the microstructure and properties of the submarine pipeline steel are studied. The results show that the matrix structure is consisted of ferrite, bainite and martensite-austenite islands. The structure has a tight relationship with the thermal-mechanical controlled process. Fine dual phase shows good plasticity and low yield ratio, which can support the good balance between high strength and high plasticity.
