使用微晶玻璃替代荧光粉来封装制作W-LEDs,具有十分突出的优势,如耐高温、耐湿热、坚固耐用、光稳定性好、光稳定性好等, 同时更适用于极端条件(零下40°C的低温至300°C的高温环境)。因此,稀土掺杂的透明微晶玻璃己经成为稀土发光材料领域的新热点,已经被证明在光通信、固态激光器和三维显示等领域具有潜在的应用前景。特别是近年来,稀土离子掺杂的白光微晶玻璃的研究引起了人们的极大兴趣。

The use of microcrystal glass, instead of fluorescent powders, for the making of sealed W-LEDs has obvious advantages, such as heat-resistance, heat and moisture-resistance, good mechanical properties, good durability, and photo resistance, and etc, especially it  works under a broad range of operative temperatures(-40 to 300°C). Rare earth doped, transparent microcrystal glasses, as a new and exciting area in the field of rare earth luminescent materials, has found its potential applications in optical communication, solid state laser and 3-D display, etc. The findings that the rare earth doped, white-light emitting transparent microcrystal glasses could induce 3-D displaying effect has attracted enormous amount of attention.
