Current Situation of Physical Education in Japanese Primary Schools and Its implications Abstract: This paper adopted documentary review and logical analysis methods to analyze the current development of physical education in Japanese primary schools and its features, aiming to provide references for the development of physical education in China. This research has found that physical education in Japanese primary schools consist of physical education lessons, extracurricular sports activities and inter school sports competitions. Physical education lessons focus on fostering children¡¯s interest in sports and improving children¡¯s physical strength and sports capability. Extracurricular sports activities are designed to facilitate the transition from spontaneous participation in sports to lifelong sports involvement. Inter school sports competitions aim to promote children¡¯s will and spirit and strengthen their physical quality as well. This research presents some considerations and recommendations on Chinese physical education, which include the comprehensive course content, scientific pedagogy, amenable(ÔÎĵĵ¼ÏòÐÔ£¬ÎÒ²»ÊǺÜÀí½âº¬ÒåÊÇʲô) teaching assessment, well-organized and autonomous extracurricular sports activities and regular and consistent inter school sports competitions.
