Thanks for your email. It is very interesting. I did something with my students on stock prediction based on text data. The works are published. I am not working on that problem now. One of the difficulties is the dat collected varies. It is difficult to know which piece of text is for what stock. Combining financial engineering and mining is a good thing to explore. In SEEM, many professors are working on financial engineering. Matching learning plus financial engineering seems hot topics in finance. When you come, we can have a chat.
