此外，四环庚烷可以作为模拟细胞代谢实验标记物，在培养所用的载体牛血清白蛋白（BSA）中稳定的存在。
在假一级酶催化反应的红外波谱测定中可以发现，复合物在红外线850nm处有强大的吸收峰，但并不与四环庚烷同时出现在吸收波谱中。
我们很高兴的发现选择性标记的QC-BSA在时间依赖上与未作修改的BSA相比，背景更小，这种背景干扰甚至在western blot实验的长期暴露中仍然保持良好。
