In recent years, with the continuous improvement of people's quality of life, the requirements to food safety have also been enhanced. Wherein, the problem of excess food additives has caused people's attention. While sulfur dioxide, as one of food additives, has been extensively used in the bleaching and anti-corrosion of various foods for improving the food qualities to meet the requirements of consumers. But if not properly handled, the residue of sulfur dioxide would exceed standard. For the shortcomings in the aspect of studying food sulfur dioxide detection, this paper uses t check statistical methods and makes systematic analysis and comparison between pararosaniline hydrochloride method and distillation method, then the advantages and disadvantages of using these two methods are obtained. Therefore, more scientific and efficient improved suggestions can be made.
