This paper discusses the components distribution of crude oil. The VOCs emissions from the loading and storage of crude oil and their environment impact were also estimated. Saturated hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons according 17.4% to 22.2% mass percentage of crude oil are the main components of VOCs which are caused by the loading and storage of crude oil. Aproximately, 0.03% VOCs emissions of crude oil from loading and 0.3% annual VOCs emissions in storage process is reasonable. The VOCs from crude oil in the loading process have the characteristics of focused emissions. Meanwhile, their impacts on the surroundings are greater than VOCs from the storage process. © 2015 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
