Chitosan is a linear polysaccharide commercially produced by thedeacetylation of chitin. It is non–toxic, biodegradable,biocompatible, and acts as a bioadhesive with otherwise unstablebiomolecules – making it a valuable component in the formulation ofbiopharmaceutical drugs.
