澳大利亚University of Wollongong PhD positions (batteries), immediately available We currently have positions for PhD students in the field of Li-ion batteries at the Institute for Superconducting & Electronic Materials (ISEM), University of Wollongong (UOW). Candidates are expected to have good research background in silicon-based anodes or NMC-based cathodes. Candidates who have or are pursuing a master’s degree are preferred. Language Requirements (English waiver may be possible if some individual band scores are a bit lower than 6.0, which depends on the publication track record): (i) IELTS (Academic): Overall IELTS score of 6.5 and individual band scores of 6.0. (ii) TOEFL (IBT): Overall band score is 88, individual band (reading 20, others 18). Scholarships: Around 26,682 AUD (tax-free) per year. Besides, CSC-supported PhD candidates or joint program are also welcome. Applications are accepted until the positions are filled. About ISEM: The ISEM has, over almost two decades of operation, become one of the most successful entities under the administration of UOW. ISEM is now one of the most famous institutes around the world in the field of energy storage materials. The institute is located in the state-of-the-art Australian Institute for Innovative Materials (AIIM) Facility at UOW’s Innovation Campus. Since the ISEM’s establishment the team has expanded to more than 140 researchers and students, including ten ARC fellows, visiting fellows, and a multidisciplinary staff with backgrounds in Materials Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry and many other areas. The ISEM’s facilities include twenty-six laboratories for the processing and characterisation of energy storage materials and electric vehicle development. |
