        Independent research of Second-generation of 360bot—360botG2               
Independent research.      
This project is an extension of my previous research in Self-Reconfigurable Modular Robot (SRMR) and is a totally self-motivated, self-directed and self-funded project. I have completed a whole series of challenges in researching and developing an improved robot, including mechanism design and analysis, manufacturing under limited resources, electronic design and implementation, programing for lower level control and an android-based remote control application, final assembly, and experiments. This novel module has a breakthrough in its mobility and has great potential to bring SRMR into real world.
        Developed a Device for Power Transmission Line Maintenance Robot to Remove Entanglement
Master Project, Supervised by Prof. Wang .                                    
Designed and developed a device to help lineman reduce their safety risks in removing power line entanglements, which always result in a flashover and cause great loss to society. A multi-discipline approach was proposed and a novel composite clearing device, which was made up of a heating cutting tool and a blade cutting tool, was constructed. This device was able to remove most types of entanglements effectively, including thread like and cloth like entanglements of various materials, in a relatively simple, quick and robust way. Experiments were conducted and the results proved its feasibility.
        Designed and Fabricated A novel Mobile Self-Reconfigurable Modular Robots—360bot (Teamwork)                                             
The Leader, Supervised by Prof. Ge , National University Student Innovation Program.      
A strategy combing ideas of ants and cells was proposed to develop a robot system aiming to implement both searching and rescuing tasks for post-disaster missions in future. A novel design of a modular robot unit met the targets with a simple structure. The design enabled each module moving with the same degree of freedom used for assembling. This design was fabricated and a control system using C51 microcontroller was developed.
