[交流] Call for PhD, University of Otago 新西兰奥塔哥大学计算机系招博士生

PhD candidates are solicited in the Department of Computer Science at University of Otago, New Zealand in the following research topics:

High performance computing and bio-engineering:
The PhD candidates can work on specific topics such as parallel programming models for CPU/GPU, parallel algorithms, brain-computer interface, EEG signal processing for diagnosis of depression, sleep, attention, emotion, etc.

Neural network modeling of human language and its interfaces with the perceptual and motor systems:
the PhD candidates are expected to carry out research in modeling the interface between language and visual attention/visual object classification mechanisms, and modeling the interface between language and action execution/action perception mechanisms. Prospective candidates should have experience in neural network modelling of either language, perception, memory or motor control. The department has an active neural networks programme, with five academic staff working in this area, and two more working in related areas of computer vision. The PhD candidates can work on specific topics such as cloud computing, stream processing, security, green computing, and cross-over aspects of all these topics.

PHD SCHOLARSHIP/ADMISSION

Otago's PhD scholarships are open to qualified students from any country, and cover both course fees and living expenses. To be considered for admission to the Computer Science department's PhD programme, applicants must have at least a four-year undergraduate degree. Applicants must also have a research project worth at least 25% of a full-time load in their final year. To be considered for a PhD scholarship, applicants must have an 'A' average or better in their final year of study.
