(b) Figure 4: (i) present 2D views only, using a transparent or white background; (ii) add black to white z-axis scale bar(s); the false color z-scale does not reproduce well when the image is printed from a monochrome printer ; (iii) characters inherited from the scanning microscopy software application are not well defined. One way to prepare high quality figures from AFM images is to import the images in Microsoft Powepoint(r), resize the image to its publication size (8.25 cm, overall width); crop the images keeping only the AFM image; repeat for the z-axis bar; reinsert the missing information using the Powerpoint tools; repeat the process if the figure contains more than one image; add a figure legend if necessary; send the Powerpoint file in its native format (ppt).? 编辑的意见如上，背景换成透明的或是白色的是什么意思？这图也没背景啊，是把彩色的图换成黑白的吗？要求Z轴怎么改？画出Z轴的刻度吗？可图上有啊？还是画出X-Z,Y-Z轴交叉的地方？  发自小木虫Android客户端 |

(ii) add black to white z-axis scale bar(s); the false color z-scale does not reproduce well when the image is printed from a monochrome printer ; 单色打印时，你的第二个方案里的图 + 黑->白 z坐标轴 是错误的 所以建议你：(i) present 2D views only, using a transparent or white background; 用2D 或者把蓝色部分背景色改成白色，使得整个z轴变成一个渐变色（单色时）。 还有就是原图ppi太低 等等 (iii) characters inherited from the scanning microscopy software application are not well defined.
